Bye Bye Television
Well, we finally did it. The TV is gone. We have removed it from the family room and it sits on the floor in another part of the house, unplugged and inactive. Dori and I looked back to the best time in our relationship, we thought about our son and his relationship to television and decided to get it out of the living area.
Actually, it was Dori's idea. But since I was the originally "Kill your TV" advocate in our house, I was in full support of the idea, despite the upcoming football season.
So now, where a 27" Sony Trinitron used to sit, is a 29 gallon freshwater aquarium with 4, wait 3, zebra danios.
It's a great idea. So, replace your TV with fish. Make sure your entertainment center can withstand the weight. The aquarium will be much heavier than the TV. It will be better for you and your family. A work friend of mine has a 17 or 18 year old daughter that organized a fashion show of all of her own creations before applying to art school. The made all of the clothes, recruited the models, and arranged the fashion show. He told me the story and said that if they had had a TV around, he was sure that his daughters would not have been so inclined to do the wonderful activities they have done. So there is a supportive statement, time tested by a real person. The aquarium is not really necessary, but an empty entertainment center looks really odd.
If you want to know how it's going, shoot me an email and I'll let you know.

It looks like this may be an older site. So, I hope you receive this. I have been wanting to build a TV aquarium for a long time. Everyone thinks I'm crazy. Well, I guess I am...and have the certification to prove it. I'm pretty agoraphobic. I'd just like to know the basics. I just want a fresh water one. Thanks a lot. I hope this reaches you.
