Philadelphia Triathlon Training Log week of April 2, 2006
Apr 10th, 2006 by admin
I was attending a conference this week in Orlando, and when I returned, I had a ton of work to do in the office and at home. Consequently, my training suffered. But I did as much as I could.
Sunday April 2
30 minute bike ride, easy pace.
Monday April 3
Off
Tuesday April 4
20 minute run at the hotel fitness center
Wednesday April 5
Off
Thursday April 6
Off
Friday April 7
Off
Saturday April 8
55 minute long run over streets and through fields, hilly and in a downpour. My iPod gave out about half-way through the run.
Sunday April 9
1:45 minute bike ride (was supposed to be 1:15, but I go lost). I tried to take it easy, but I did push a little, hit some great hills, stiff winds, and went a little farther than my training plan intended.
My shins were hurting a little after running prior to this week, but the rest has helped. My legs feel better and stronger.
Don’t forget: I am still fundraising for Team in Training!
Dear Chris:
Dear Chris:
I do not know you but I came across your blog after I recieved a very sad e-mail from a former Rutgers Law-Camden classmate. I learned today that your cousin, Alexis C. Rees, has passed on from Lukemia on April 13, 2006. I recognized her name instantly and once I saw her picture on your blog I was truly saddened. Though Alexis and I did not keep in touch after law school, we were friendly while we were in school together. She was honestly a very nice and bright person. I would just like to send my condolences to both you and your family and to say that she was far to young to pass on. I would like to make a donation to the Lukemia & Lymphoma Society in Alexis’ name and would like to notify her family. If you could please forward me some information to this regard I would be very appreciative.
Again, please pass my deepest sympathies to your family.
Very Truly -
Jeanie
Alexis C. Rees was not my cousin, but she was the honored hero motivating my entire team. Alexis lost her battle with Leukemia on April 13th. We will miss her dearly. I will still be training and racing in her honor and with her in mind as my motivation. Chris Pilla is currently planning a local memorial service for Alexis. I will post the information when it becomes available. We will miss you Alexis.
